Consultants care about billable hours, a lot. Luckily, Cervello was built from the ground up with more than just billable hours in mind. As passionate as we are about delivering top notch solutions to our clients, we are also passionate about giving back to the community. The Cervello Connects program ensures that the company does just that. As a team, we volunteer 1% of our time (approximately 450 hours per year) and 1% of our profits to charitable organizations.
Our focus areas for this program are:
- Education and skills
- Basic needs (Food, Clothing, Shelter)
With these focus areas in mind, the Cervello Connects board members choose a relevant charity each season (three times a year) to donate our time and money to. In the past we have supported the Boston Rescue Mission, Battery Urban Farm, The Food Project, Bottom Line and Cradles to Crayons among others.
This past season, Cervello Connects worked with FamilyAid Boston. This organization helps families avoid homelessness, access shelter, transition to permanent housing and gain their stability. The decision to work with FamilyAid Boston was made in larger part due to their back to school back pack donation drive. This opportunity fulfilled two of Cervello Connects’ focus areas: education and basic needs.
With the help of each and every Cervello employee, 65 back packs were filled to the brim with school supplies (notebooks, pens, pencils, folders, etc.) and then donated to FamilyAid Boston. We stuffed back packs for both younger kids who received crayons and markers and older kids who got binders and protractors. The children receiving these supplies now have the opportunity to start the school year off with the tools to help ensure their success.
In the past year, FamilyAid Boston has been able to help over 800 homeless families – which amounts to 3,000 parents and children – get back on their feet. Contributing to that amazing statistic is what Cervello Connects is all about.
