Birst Forward 2014 did not disappoint this year! It’s amazing to see just how far Birst has come over the past several years. As one of the early adopters of the Birst Platform, the team at Cervello knew there was something special about Birst and our investments are paying off. There’s a reason why Birst continues to garner the attention of press and analysts alike, and why Gartner named them a Challenger for the second year in a row in its Magic Quadrant for Business Intelligence and Analytics for 2014.
I started the week at partner day on Monday. As Birst’s oldest services partner, it’s incredible to see how much the partner ecosystem has evolved in the last three years since the very first Birst Forward. Noteworthy, was the number of international partners present which underscores how Birst is gaining traction in new markets. Later that afternoon, I participated on the partner panel with four other partners. It was a great discussion about lessons learned and interesting to hear the perspectives from other partners. As the day wrapped up I met with several other Birst partners which has resulted in future collaboration opportunities and further shows what a great partner community Birst has built.
As the official conference kicked off on Tuesday, Brad Peter’s began with his keynote and we all got to hear from the new CEO, Jay Larson. When Birst first announced that they had hired a new CEO, Cervello knew this meant big things to come. If you have ever met or worked directly with Brad Peters you can’t overlook his passion for the platform and this recent change is extremely positive as Brad takes on his new Chief Product Officer role. Also in the keynote, our customer Reckitt Benckiser was highlighted for the strategic investments they are making in Birst to accelerate analytics throughout the company on a world-wide scale.
The second day was filled with break-out sessions and customer success stories. One of Cervello’s newest customers, Athena Health, spoke about their innovative approach to analytics and decision-making. We would also like to congratulate Athena Health on winning the Customer Innovation Award – great job! To close out the conference the audience was entertained by Founder and Chief Customer Officer, Paul Staelin and his free-style capabilities with his performance of Birst A Move. In closing, Birst Forward 2014 was a great event, and for me, being able to meet new partners, customers and some of the newer faces in the Birst community were by far the greatest highlights. As we move into the second half of 2014, the Cervello team continues to be thrilled about our strategic partnership and we look forward to helping propel Birst – Up and to the Right in the months ahead!
